Protists and fungi are classified in Protista and kingdom Fungi, respectively. Both protists and fungi are less organized organisms compared to plants and animals. However, both are composed of membrane-bound organelles such as the Golgi apparatus and the ER. Chromosomes are also arranged into a nucleus. Some protists are autotrophs while others are heterotrophs. Fungi are heterotrophs. The key difference between protists and fungi is that protists are basically unicellular organisms whereas fungi are mainly multicellular organisms.
